Giving

Gracious Giving Matters

For all of you who have been faithfully giving of your tithes, I would like to say thank you for obeying the commands of Christ and for stepping out in faith to give Him the first fruits of your labor and for going the extra mile at different times in the life of Hillview.

For all of you at Hillview who are truly trying to tithe (i.e. you give ten dollars here, fifty dollars there or when you have it extra, you put in one hundred dollars but it is not the ten percent or the tithe in which God calls us to do), would you consider making a commitment to tithe your income?  I know it is an incredible step of faith in the promises of God, but He promises to take care of you when you completely trust Him in the area of your finances.  Trust Christ and give Him the portion He deserves.  Step out of the boat of doubt and walk on the water of faith and trust in Christ, knowing He will reach down and help you in times of struggle and trouble.

For some of you who have not, or feel at this time you can not give to the Lord, please reconsider and begin to give and trust the Lord in your finances because He has blessed you tremendously with everything you have.  Would you consider sitting down with your family and praying about your part in being a faithful member of Hillview Baptist Church? Would you sit down with them and commit to an amount to faithfully give to Christ and His Kingdom?  Investigate areas in your budget that can be trimmed in order to begin to give and then commit to give with all your soul and strength.

How to Give

You're right, "How to Give" is kind of a ridiculous title.  You know how to give.

Step one:  Put something in your hand that belongs to you

Step two:  Release that something into someone else's hand you trust

That is giving in a nutshell, right?  The trouble is, with how crazy busy our lives have become and even this two stage process can get lost in the shuffle.  The checkbook gets buried under the pile of stuff on the counter and the next week you're out of town and the following week your wallet gets left in the car.  You get the idea.

So while this explanation of giving options like automatic withdrawal from your checking account or the availability of credit and debit cards may seem a little bit bold on our part, we are only trying to meet you where you are…. and equip you to take the next step in your financial giving to the Lord.  Plus, many of you have asked about these options so we thought the rest of our church might be curious as well.  Please, if you would like to take advantage of these options, click on the "donate" button above and it will link you with PayPal for a safe and secure transaction.  Let us begin to be faithful in all aspects of our membership at Hillview Baptist Church.

God says "Test Me".....

Malachi  3:8-11

8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, 'How have we robbed Thee?' In tithes and offerings.

9 "You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the whole nation of you!

10 "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.

11 "Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it may not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes," says the LORD of hosts.
